Hey Booklovers! We’re beyond excited for the opening of our new store in Wichita, KS. In this edition of Meet the Bibliomaniacs, we would like to introduce you to the HPB Wichita team. Take it away, guys!
What is your favorite part about working at HPB?
Charity: The other employees have been fantastic.
Kathleen: I get to be surrounded by the things I love with people who also love books and media, too. Seeing people come in with things to sell is an adventure. You never know what will be there!
Jonathan: The atmosphere.
Matt: Seeing and buying so many books.
Sarah: The people I work with and the customers.
Morgana: I enjoy how patient and reassuring all of my superiors have been. It creates a comfortable work environment.
Thomas: The work environment, working with people who like books. Customers and employees alike.
Lisa: Exposure to new subjects and expanding my knowledge of books.
Hunter: Seeing all the new products and interesting things come through.
Anissa: Being around books and learning about new subjects.
Caleb: Interacting with people who have the same passions I do.
Tim: Being exposed to rare and exciting collectibles and learning something new every day.
Kristal: Working with a company that has such diverse interests and really values both customers and employees. Also, my favorite part about buying books is that they can tell you a story about the people selling them to you, and you never know what that story will be.

Sarah: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Batman Forever.
Lisa: The Golden Girls.
Hunter: The Doodlebops.
Anissa: Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Caleb: Pride and Prejudice.
Kristal: John Mulaney’s comedy specials. I have seen them all an unhealthy number of Times.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Kathleen: I have freckles on my arm in the shape of the Big Dipper.
Matt: I studied physics and philosophy in college.
Sarah: I hate the Rolling Stones and have a crazy backstock of Star Wars trivia in my head
Thomas: I played a lot of sports and I write my letters from the bottom to the top.
Lisa: I’ve been a correctional officer.
Hunter: I do a lot of performance art including hyper-feminized drag.
Anissa: I like to draw.
Caleb: I enjoy watching anime and reading manga.
Tim: I love sleep. Best thing ever.
Kristal: I was a stage manager at Hersheypark for two years.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Charity: I play games, write, draw and cuddle my cat.
Kathleen: Play Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Better Angels and video games. Send letters and cards to pen pals, and play with my cat.
Jonathan: Read, play music and dangerously re-enacting WWE moves.
Matt: Read, cook, play video games and watch soccer.
Sarah: Read and watch Let’s Play on YouTube
Morgana: Read and watch films.
Thomas: Read, draw, go to shows/operas/recitals and hike.
Lisa: Camp with a good book to pass the Time.
Hunter: Puzzles, dance, and watch TV shows.
Anissa: Watch movies.
Caleb: Read, write, and watch TV.
Tim: Sleep.
Kristal: I play Dungeons and Dragons with my husband and friends, read, and cuddle my menagerie of animals (two dogs and two cats).
If you could write a book about yourself, what would the title be?

When are you the happiest?
Charity: When I am talking to my friends about things I (or we) love.
Kathleen: I’m happiest spending time with my fiancé and cat.
Jonathan: Food consuming times.
Matt: Reading a good book with good food or playing video games with good friends.
Sarah: After a nap or with the window open while it rains.
Morgana: When I am confident and secure in my environment.
Thomas: When I’m with my family.
Lisa: Camping, getting outdoors.
Hunter: When I’m sleeping.
Anissa: Sleeping.
Caleb: When a new season of one of my favorite shows comes out.
Tim: Sleeping.
Kristal: At the end of long days when I fall into bed and curl up with my dogs.

Charity: Some of these questions are tougher than I thought they’d be.
Kathleen: Healers are people too.
Jonathan: My favorite word is facetious. It has all 5 vowels in alphabetical order!
Sarah: Pineapple has NO PLACE on pizza.

Lisa: I love HPB.
Kristal: I also have a horrible obsession with the Dragon Age franchise.
